We are in search of an experienced professional to take on the crucial role of CEO/Managing Director/Executive Director for a developing Electronic Money Institution (EMI).
This role presents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic venture within the financial services sector, catering to both individuals and businesses worldwide. Position Overview:
In this role you will be instrumental in defining the strategic direction, overseeing operations, and driving growth. With the EMI license pending approval, this role offers the unique opportunity to shape the company from its early stages and lead its expansion in the fintech market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the company’s strategic objectives in collaboration with the senior management team, ensuring alignment with the owner’s approved business model.
• Operational Oversight: Lead and manage the company’s operations, product development, sales, and marketing efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance and achieving commercial goals.
• Market Expansion: Spearhead the business setup and growth, building the company’s presence and market share from the ground up.
• Partnership Development: Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic partnerships with acquiring banks, payment service providers (PSPs), and alternative payment methods (APMs).
• Regulatory Engagement: Collaborate closely with the Head of Compliance (MLRO) to understand and manage the EMI application process and prepare for regulatory interviews.
• Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement a comprehensive hiring strategy to build a high-performing team that supports the company’s growth and innovation goals.
• Innovation and Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance product offerings and operational efficiency.

Skill Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years in the banking or payment/e-money services industry, including at least 4 years in senior leadership roles (MD, CEO, Executive Director).
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives, managing risk, and leading companies to sustained growth in the financial services industry.
• Regulatory Expertise: In-depth understanding of E-Money and payment services regulations, with extensive experience interacting with financial regulators.
• Network: Strong connections with top management of European acquirers and banks.
• Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify market trends and position the company for competitive advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with financial technologies and digital transformation strategies.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Compliance Readiness: Ability to pass the FCA’s “fit and proper” test as part of the E-Money institution application process.
