• Full time, maximum term contract for 12 Months (based on 35 hours per week)
• Fortnightly RDO
• Salary: $78k + Super
• Ability to transfer or take LSL (Long Service Leave) within Local Government

ABOUT THE ROLE

Merri-bek City Council is looking for experienced Gardeners as part of Merri-bek City Council’s in-house Area Maintenance team. You will play a vital role in helping to maintain our Parks and Open Space for all Merri-bek citizens to enjoy. You will enjoy contact with the community and working with a dynamic team to look after Council’s Parks and Reserves and maintenance of landscapes throughout Merri-bek, including our many made and unmade Right of ways (laneways)
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, driven, and passionate about the community and delivering a positive customer experience both internally and externally.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRE TO PERFORM THE ROLE

• Certificate III in Horticulture (Desirable but not mandatory)
• Extensive experience in landscaping or park maintenance.
• The ability to use horticultural machinery.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and Medium Rigid Level or equivalent would be highly regarded.
