REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH)
  • 6 to 10 years practical work experience preferred
  • Relevant experience in a consulting environment preferred

Responsibilities:

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Arcadis Canada is seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to join the Environmental Team in Ontario to provide technical support to Arcadis staff in offices across Canada. This is a hybrid position with remote capability and travel to office and site as required.
The Environmental Team sits in the Global Business Area Resilience. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) you will co-ordinate and execute activities pertaining to the design, implementation and management of hazardous materials assessment and abatement projects and occupational health exposure assessments across Canada. This includes writing proposals, conducting site visits, inspections, and worker exposure monitoring, designing, and overseeing remediation activities, preparing reports, and providing direction to and overseeing the work of field technical staff.

Role accountabilities:

  • Hazardous materials assessment, including asbestos, lead, mould, etc.
  • Worker exposure assessment
  • Noise assessment
  • Indoor air quality assessment
  • Laboratory decommissioning assessment
  • Design and oversight of hazardous materials abatement projects
