How you make a difference:
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses. Your responsibilities include assisting nurses in various activities, leveraging your education and demonstrated competencies to contribute effectively to the healthcare team. This role demands a commitment to supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care while collaborating closely with the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, implementing established policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, intervening with proper techniques and safety precautions.
  • Gather patient history, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up, demonstrating a commitment to comprehensive healthcare support.
  • Adhere to designated work schedules, responding effectively to codes or patient crises as per site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
  • Prioritize infection control techniques and principles, contributing to the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients.
  • Maintain working areas, supplies, and equipment, attending mandatory staff meetings/training to uphold a high standard of healthcare delivery and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Successful completion of an accredited CMA course.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the State if certification is required by the State or the facility.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
