Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

ULS is currently seeking a Certified Pesticide Applicator to join our team in Calgary. This position will be responsible for performing all sections of Plant Health Care, including: mixing, preparing and spraying pesticides, equipment maintenance, customer relations and other duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRED SKILLS:

Required

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Valid Pesticide Applicator Certification
  • 2+ years’ experience in pesticide application
  • Valid Driver’s License (class 5), ability to provide copy of driver’s abstract and own reliable transportation
  • Experience with multiple machines including track hoe, packer, skid steer, grader
  • Professional and safety minded
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • All successfully candidates must provide a recent criminal record check as part of employment

Preferred

  • Previous landscaping, snow removal and/or maintenance experience is an asset
  • Ability to take direction, learn and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Motivated and energetic team player with an attention to detail and great work ethic

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating safety leadership and safe work practices at all times
  • Working in accordance with Urban Life Solutions policies and procedures
  • Providing exceptional customer service & client experiences
  • Performing all sections of Plant Maintenance including tree injection and root invigoration
  • Responsible for the mixing and preparation of pesticides
  • Demonstrating proper pesticide application skills
  • Understanding and following directives on all pesticide and fertilizer work orders
  • Pesticide spraying equipment maintenance
  • Record keeping and report writing
  • Utilizing appropriate PPE to carry out job duties
  • Interacting with clientele to ensure job satisfaction
  • Additional tasks as required
