Our Certified 5th Class Power Engineers (Kiln Attendants) keep our business running. They are accountable for ensuring that the site process systems and equipment are functioning as efficiently as possible. This includes troubleshooting and maintenance of thermal oil heating equipment, process piping, pumps, compressors, fire systems and other process equipment. We’re looking for a Certified Power Engineer - 5th Class or higher to join us as a Kiln Attendant for our redesigned, modern lumber mill located near Williams Lake, British Columbia. Our Lakeview Division safely and sustainably produces over 230 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

5th Class Power Engineer Certification or higher.
Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, leadership & interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Commitment to working safely.
Previous experience in a forest products environment, and specifically, lumber drying experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems, process safety equipment, and thermal energy system.
Troubleshoot, plan and execute maintenance of thermal oil heating equipment, process piping, pumps, compressors, fire systems and other various process equipment.
Initiate and implement process changes to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our assets.
Maintain records to ensure compliance with environmental, Technical Safety BC standards and insurance standards.
