Job Description
Our Ireland Technical & Building Surveying Consultancy business unit continues to grow to service the Irish Public and Private sectors where it has successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some of the largest projects and programs in the region. As a direct result if this growth it is currently seeking a full time
The Senior Technical Consultant will be expected to work with an Associate or Project Director to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects.
The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.
A Senior Technical Consultant should possess the skills and experience to lead and manage a team on a technically complex project, and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients and other team members.
Senior Technical Consultant must possess Senior Project manager attributes as a minimum, and possess an acute technical awareness for Construction
Be a day-to-day main client point of contact for projects, with a knowledgeable and proactive approach
Understand, monitor and update each Projects, Project execution Plan (PEP)
Lead AECOMs delivery of Independent Tester on projects by engaging with parties to the Contract on a daily basis
Possess a confident and leader approach in construction site positions.
Maintain AECOM service delivery to the highest quality, proactively manage projects.
Manage and mentor junior team members to transfer knowledge and experience, to assist with delivery of a PM service efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.
  • Good experience of contributing to project delivery
  • Experience of understanding a design, detail and construction drawings generally
  • A understanding of the detailed design, construction issue and as built cycle on live construction projects
  • Experience of design and build projects an advantage
  • Experience of working in another comparable consultancy environment, or with a client organisation.
  • Good understanding of project Governance and procurement processes
  • Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes
  • Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members
  • Experience of compliance assessments, current Technical Guidance Documents and Building Regulations and their application.
  • Must have good business acumen and support Director/Associate with developing and delivering to agreed commercial targets
