    St Vincent’s Health Australia is the largest diversified health care organisation within Australia’s not for profit Catholic health care sector. St Vincent’s is a clinical, research and education leader and operator of private hospitals, public hospitals and aged care services in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Reporting to the Regional CEO, the critical role of CFO for the Private Health division in Victoria has become available, and represents an ideal opportunity for an aspiring CFO candidate to join the organisation and make their mark.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:-

  • CA/CPA/CIMA/MBA qualified, and ideally with a minimum of five years’ relevant leadership experience
  • A highly effective leader with a successful track record of developing high performing teams
  • Strong technical finance skills, and in particular performance reporting, analysis, modelling, and business case/investment review
  • Superb stakeholder engagement capability, including with Executive leadership and non-finance stakeholders alike
  • A strong knowledge of the private health sector gained in a career within the sector (or an adjacent one such as aged care)

Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic and operational advice to the Regional CEO
  • Overseeing the management accounting and performance reporting functions of the division
  • Preparing annual budgets, forecasts, long term financial projections, and analysis of business performance
  • Providing advice and assistance to General Managers and Directors of Clinical Services with regard to hospital operational budgets and efficiencies
  • Ensuring robust business case preparation and driving a culture of commercial thinking and ongoing post investment review
  • Driving the fullest utilisation of systems and data to better support decision making processes and outcomes
  • Supporting the Regional CEO in the assessment of commercial opportunities for the organisation, and managing any associated risks
  • Ensuring all cost reduction and efficiency drives are identified and then optimised
  • Leading and mentoring a team of skilled finance professionals, ensuring ongoing learning and development is prioritised and succession planning is in place
  • Provide leadership support to non-finance people managers in the team (Supply, Food and Environmental Services, Property and Infrastructure) to ensure a high-performance environment is maintained
  • Co-ordinating and managing special projects as directed by the Regional CEO
  • Assisting with the optimising of system upgrades and implementations
  • Contributing to timely periodical accounting and reporting periods, liaising with Group Finance and Shared Services functions
