ABOUT THE ROLE

At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we are in an exciting period of growth and change for the better. As a key part of our journey, we are commencing a major technology reform program which will have a significant impact on how NESA supports schools, teachers, parents and students across NSW.
As Change and Transformation Manager you will apply your expertise to support delivery of NESA’s strategic programs, equipping project teams to integrate a culture of change management in their approach. You will be responsible for guiding and managing the change process, ensuring that new processes, technology and behaviours are successfully integrated and embedded into the organization.
This is a new role and is critical in supporting NESA through delivery of transformation programs, applying fit-for-purpose change systems, tools and processes, and providing coaching and advice to support a successful change agenda.
You will work on initiatives across the organisation, partnering closely with various stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Your role will be critical in establishing standards as the architect of frameworks and tools to support channels of change and uplift capability.

This is a hands-on role with a wide remit and high visibility. It requires a self-starter willing to drive structured change management into the business and take ownership to ensure successful implementation. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Leveraging your change management toolkit to support staff adoption of the changes required and helping programs realise their outcomes.
  • Assessing change impacts by conducting impact analysis, assessing change readiness and working with key stakeholders to mitigate the risk.
  • Designing and delivering programs to uplift staff capability, drive behavioural change and raise awareness of information and cyber security risks and responsibilities.
  • Leading communication and engagement activities to ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged and informed throughout the process.

We encourage applications from candidates with:

  • Demonstrated capability to drive, enable, and oversee end-to-end complex change.
  • Proven experience in the planning, development and delivery of effective change communications and learning.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong networks, influence others to move toward a common goal.
  • Experience of finding common ground among stakeholders with disparate views, fostering trust and engagement through proactive communication.
  • Expert communication (written and verbal) and an ability to clearly tailor and articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • A breadth of change management approaches, tools and templates with experience of applying these in support of transformation programs.
  • Experience driving behavioural change with a specific focus on capability uplift and risk mitigation in the information and cyber security space.
  • Excellent active listening skills, resilient and tenacious with an ability to identify practical and pragmatic solutions in the face of resistance to change.
