The Role
As the Chapter Lead, you’ll act as an SME for Data Enablement and ensure chapter members effectively contribute with expertise and implement consistent standards when leading data enablement initiatives.
Lead chapter members to develop the Chapter’s craft and individually contribute to delivery of business outcomes as a member of self-managed teams or squads.
Some of the things you will be accountable for include:
- Collaborate with Centre of Excellence (CoE) leads to plan and allocate data governance and data system analysts resources based on initiative requirements
- Oversee and support the Data Enablement Self-Managed Team (SMT) in delivering various data initiatives eg Data Quality monitoring, Data Management uplift aligned with CPG235, PII management, Data Classification, Data Catalogue enablement, Enterprise Data Literacy uplift.
- Regularly meet with the CoE Lead, Product Owners and other Chapter Leads to gather feedback on chapter member performance, with an aim to continuously improve the craft.
- Define plans and execute these to address audit and compliance issues in relation to the Chapter.
- Build support among stakeholders for the chapter’s frameworks, standards, and processes.
- Responsible for the enterprise Data Governance approach and adoption.
What you bring:
- Extensive experience within a leading insurance / financial institution or consulting firm.
- Visible passion for subject area, with demonstrated experience in solving complex problems.
- Qualifications in an industry Data Management standard eg DMBOK or DAMA.
- Understanding of APRA CPG 235 – Managing Data Risk.
- Experience with coaching or mentoring others to develop expertise.
- Experience in delivering DAA specific initiatives e.g. Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data, Reference Data, Data Integration, Analytics, AI.
