Description:

Job Summary: The Charge Integrity Analyst-Radiology performs International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding and abstracts data from the legal medical record (LLEAP). Ensures the quality and accuracy of CPT charges in compliance with federal and state regulations, government and contract payers, and grant funding. Supports accuracy of coding in compliance with the American Hospital Association of Official Coding Guidelines, charge posting, and charge reconciliation for supplies and charges, and assists with billing and charging correction for the Radiology department in a timely manner. Reviews physician documentation to ensure documentation supports charges submitted. Collaborates with Revenue Integrity to maintain compliance and eliminate coding errors. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. One year of coding experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology and coding criteria; ICD-10 and CPT codes. Basic knowledge of medical insurances and how they are used in hospital and clinic based facilities. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Coding Certification from American Health Information Management required within six months of hire date
