The position is situated at NORDEN´s office in Dubai.

YOUR COMPETENCES AND CORE QUALIFICATIONS

As a person, you are outgoing and take pride in building good relationships with relevant stakeholders - internal and external. You are committed and able to work efficiently, while still prioritising the needs of the team before own agenda. It is energising for you to coordinating and specialise your communication to ensure an optimised workflow.

Apart from this you have a proven history within the following areas:

  • AG/Red Sea/Indian Ocean Markets.
  • Trading and optimising earnings on tonnage and cargoes.
  • Key customer relationships.
  • Understanding of hedging, FFA and the underlying risk related to position on a basic level.
  • The dry bulk shipping industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a Chartering Manager or similar role, ideally within the Handysize market.
  • Negotiation and a deep understanding of commercial terms, charter parties, and regional market dynamics.

It will be an advantage if you are ready based in Dubai with an existing client base.

Responsibilities:

Your primary tasks include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients (owners, charterers and brokers) within the handysize market.
  • Creating value doing short/medium term contracts, tonnage and cargoes by taking autonomous decisions while ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and values.
  • Analysing market research, information, and trends to formulate and share market view.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including operations, commercial, and technical teams, to ensure smooth execution of voyages and optimised vessel earnings and positioning.
  • Coordinating and positioning our fleet in close cooperation with the team.
