We are an aspiring organisation, and we are looking for equally bold and creative Chassis Domain Module Engineer to join our established team. Nissan is positioned to become the most desirable Asian brand in Europe, and we need your help to get there.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience in vehicle control development or working with chassis parts suppliers.
  • Experience in developing mechatronic systems, embedded software, or chassis components.
  • Experience managing suppliers in a project environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate ideas effectively & adapt to differing cultural and business requirements
  • Motivated to optimise vehicle performance from the customer’s point of view and able to work to deadlines and keep commitments.
  • Logical thinking and creative problem solving.
  • Pro-active attitude and positive spirit with an aptitude to learn.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics or chassis related discipline.
  • Understanding of whole vehicle development process.
  • Experience of vehicle dynamics testing (subjective and/or objective).
  • Benchmarking / trend analysis experience.
  • Other languages (Japanese, Spanish, French, German…)

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

As a Nissan global organisation, we are developing chassis control systems such as e-4FORCE, Intelligent Trace Control, e-Pedal Step, and Autobrake Hold. These are in-house chassis control systems to bring competitive chassis control systems to market at the right time.
In Nissan Europe, we plan to take design responsibility from Nissan Japan for some European projects. This is an exciting opportunity to support building a new knowledge area within Nissan Europe. We would like someone to join the team based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe to learn and help build Nissan Europe’s capabilities to contribute to future projects.
In addition, although this is a design role, we also conduct regular vehicle experiments, creating a work environment that has an attractive balance between desk studies and vehicle testing.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with other Nissan departments to set competitive targets for ride and handling during normal and autonomous driving.
  • Create chassis control systems that will achieve R&H targets.
  • Post-chassis control development is mainly upstream process (system design) if the V-shaped process within model-based development.
  • Development of control logic and understanding the link to system test (vehicle performance compatibility.
  • Subjective evaluation and cross functional working to confirm vehicle target and achievement with relevant departments in Global Nissan organisation.
  • Generation of cost reduction opportunities, implementation, and provision of technical support to the purchasing organisation for commercial negotiations.
  • Quality improvements of current production models.
  • Support to Nissan/Alliance manufacturing plants.
