Description:

ACHIEVEMENTS AND STIMULATING CHALLENGES:

As part of the DevOps and Software Quality division, the QA Automation team lead will be responsible for leading the automation test strategy, tools, processes and managing a QA analysts team as well as a CI Developers team while remaining hands-on.
We are looking for a candidate with team management experience in an Agile environment and with strong leadership skills. The candidate will need to be an excellent team player and demonstrate interest in supporting co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on test automation related experience and at least 2 years as a team lead, and/or experience as a Scrum master.
  • Language abilities: French mandatory - courses will be offered if necessary to facilitate integration. Excellent English skills (oral and written) for communication with colleagues and partners outside Quebec.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Good knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, Quality Processes, Methodologies and Test Design techniques.
  • Strong experience in building Continuous Integration test automation framework using technologies such as Jenkins, Gitlab-CI.
  • Experience in a variety of test automation frameworks/tools and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Python/PyTest, Nose2, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of industry practices with a focus on Agile, DevOps, environments, and test integration.
  • Experience in using source code management system (GIT).
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Strong problem solving, design, analytical skills.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking to come up with creative solutions on testing approaches in critical timelines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, effective negotiation skills.
  • Proficient at writing process documentation.
  • Autonomy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess QA automation needs to define and leverage current automation framework to best suit R&D teams.
  • Participate in optimizing QA tests development and execution.
  • Design and promote quality processes.
  • Define and apply QA metrics across R&D teams.
  • Proceed to hands-on test scripts and tools, deployments pipelines and code reviews.
  • Support the implementation of company wise reporting means, and ensure efficient communication.
  • Closely work with DevOps and IVV teams to integrate quality concepts, tools and Clients’ experience within CI environments.
  • Synchronize with Software and Hardware team leaders to manage priorities and requirements.
  • Responsible for technical coaching, mentoring, training and daily interactions with teams’ members to ensure lasting competencies and knowledge sharing.
  • Assess teams’ members’ performances, manage competencies and training plans.
