Description:

Clare College are seeking a Chef De Partie reporting to the Head Chef. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week to a two week shift system.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented Chef to join our team. In a couple of months the team will be moving to a brand new kitchen which has been fitted with top of the range kitchen equipment.
As a main player in the catering team, you will be providing a consistently high level of service to students, staff, College guests, Fellows and conference delegates. Suitably qualified, your CV will reflect your experience in quality kitchens. You will be able to demonstrate a solid background in industrial and banqueting catering and, driven by your love for producing excellent food, you will have definite and realistic ambitions to become a Senior Chef De Partie/Head Chef.
As part of your career development you will be given the opportunity to enter competitions and on occasions train with the England Team. Both the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef have Michelin and Rosette kitchen experience which means that you will be working with award winning chefs and cooking for fine dining events.
Clare is the second oldest of the 31 Colleges in the University of Cambridge. Regarded as one of the most progressive and informal, Clare is renowned as a College that achieves academically at the highest levels, whilst also being welcoming, forward-thinking, and inclusive.
Located in the heart of Cambridge city centre, the College is extraordinarily beautiful and famed for its gardens on “the Backs” (the famous backs of the Colleges that overlook the River Cam). Clare’s Old Court, a Grade I listed building, is the centre of the College and is unique among the ancient Cambridge Colleges in having maintained its architectural integrity over the course of its history.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary will be up to £28,194. In addition, there will be plenty of paid overtime available particularly in the busy conference season. You will also be eligible for a bonus.
Included in the benefits package is membership of a defined contribution pension scheme, membership of a medical cashback scheme, parking, and non-contractual bonus paid in November of each year.
