Description:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
To be able to cook and delivering well-prepared Halal meals independently. He/She must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- Able to prepare few local Halal food.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with manager and Serving personnel.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
- Able to work independently in preparing and cooking of food.
- Culinary Skills or equivalent
- Candidate with Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare simple food/drinks (toasting, reheating, steaming, and mixing drink ingredients)
- Preparing orders through Point of Sale (POS) systems or other software.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and timely
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Ensure appropriate portioning and serving size for waste control
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
- Planning in the development of new menu disheMaintain cleanliness of kitchen stations and upkeep of cooking equipment and kitchen environment
