Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

To be able to cook and delivering well-prepared Halal meals independently. He/She must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • Able to prepare few local Halal food.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with manager and Serving personnel.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
  • Able to work independently in preparing and cooking of food.
  • Culinary Skills or equivalent
  • Candidate with Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare simple food/drinks (toasting, reheating, steaming, and mixing drink ingredients)
  • Preparing orders through Point of Sale (POS) systems or other software.
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and timely
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Ensure appropriate portioning and serving size for waste control
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
  • Planning in the development of new menu disheMaintain cleanliness of kitchen stations and upkeep of cooking equipment and kitchen environment
