Chemical Attendant – Pioneer Mill

Applications are sought from suitable candidates for the position of permanent Chemical Attendant at Pioneer Mill in the Burdekin Region. This position involves day work and may require some weekend work and overtime.
The chemical attendant works closely with the Laboratory team members and the Process Improvement Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust the chemical dosing systems used at site, Monitor the Demin plant and assist with operation and maintenance when required. You will also work in conjunction with the Evaporator Operator to check on and take corrective action to maintain the starch enzyme (Amylase) and evaporator anti scale dosing systems.
There are various housekeeping duties involved in this role, with additional tasks being assigned on a maintenance day.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Work effectively within a team environment as a member of the Production and Cogen team
• Work safely and look after the safety of others in the area
• Communicate effectively on telephone and two-way radio
• Be able to provide regular and accurate feedback to the Production team on factory issues
• Perform accurate chemical stocktakes and move chemical around site
• Carry out bagasse samples for lab analysis
• Conduct steam out of juice supply lines running to lab, when required
• Undertake further training and development
