Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
Veolia is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join our Liquid & Hazardous Waste team, in a newly created position designed to optimise processes resulting in environmental, commercial and safety outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide visible and technically astute leadership for the liquid and hazardous waste business line in QLD and NT.
- Monitoring and providing oversight to all liquid and hazardous waste processes.
- Ensure the sites are testing samples and the reports provided are in accordance with Veolia and customer requirements.
- Provide direction and advice to Branch Managers and Regional/State Managers on liquid and hazardous waste operations
- Regularly visit operational facilities, advising on improvements to reduce risk and enhance outcomes.
- Provide technical support on projects, working closely with internal teams and external consultants.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies like the Department of Environment and Science (DESi) on compliance matters.
- Review trade waste outlets across treatment plants to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Identify and evaluate third-party disposal options for compliant and suitable waste treatment.
- Drive the Veolia ‘Always Safe’ culture.
