Job description:
The KIT Battery Technology Center (https://www.batterietechnikum.kit.edu/) is an open technology platform for future electrical energy storage systems. The focus is on the development and production of new materials and cells as well as the development of batteries and their integration into an overall system. At the same time, new manufacturing processes for the cost-effective production of these batteries are being developed and demonstrated.
In the cell development/testing working group, you will take on the following tasks in the field of manufacturing innovative lithium-ion cells:
Production of novel battery cells on the manual production line in the dry room, as well as small batch production, taking into account material-appropriate processing methods and consistently high quality in process execution
Carrying out quality controls between the individual process steps and on the finished cells
Preparation and execution of tests on lithium-ion and post-lithium cells with new materials and process steps
Support in the production of electrode pastes and electrode layers on a pilot plant scale
Performance of Karl Fischer measurements to determine the water content in electrolytes
Maintaining and servicing physical-technical equipment and laboratory devices, including the elimination of minor faults and the repair of minor defects
calculating, procuring and assembling the required materials and chemicals
supplying and disposing of laboratory media and consumables
