hadros Recruitment is currently working with a leading Energy-as-a-Solutions provider in Singapore with offices and an impressive portfolio of renewable energy assets across Asia, and they are currently looking for a highly skilled Chief Accountant to lead their Accounting Systems and Process Improvement initiatives.
This role is critical in driving operational excellence, enhancing financial controls, and optimizing accounting processes within the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and operations, to streamline and automate accounting processes, leveraging technology solutions to enhance productivity and data integrity.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of accounting procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent application across the organization.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting systems and processes, providing training and mentorship to team members as needed.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Analyze financial data and prepare insightful reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting systems and process improvement, preferably within the Renewable Energy, Construction, Infrastructure, or Power industries.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing accounting systems and processes in a complex, multi-national organization.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and best practices, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop team members.
