Description:

Nanushka founded in 2006 is a Budapest-based fashion house dedicated to craftsmanship, detail and responsible production. With a functionalist brand ethos and core design principles of innovative craft, new heritage, and bohemian spirit, Nanushka garments are an intuitive juxtaposition of traditional techniques and contemporary silhouettes.
As one of the largest fashion companies in Hungary with a significant global presence it has substantial commercial activities as well as local subsidiaries in the USA, the United Kingdom, and China. The company has an integrated value-chain from production management to the sales and retail customers.

Chief Accountant tasks:

  • Accounting of the domestic companies (bank, cash, tangible assets, customer, supplier, tax, etc.), supervising an accounting team of approx. 6 people;
  • Hungarian tax returns and supervision of the supporting documentation; controlling tax administration statements, ensuring legal compliance;
  • Accounting for subsidiaries (US, UK, China), coordination with local service partners (primarily tax and regulatory compliance) as well as managing small accounting teams (1-2 accountants);
  • Active contribution in top management meetings through preparation and presenting consolidated accounting data, weekly / monthly financial statements (IFRS basis)
  • Review the operation of the company’s business critical ERP system - sales activities are continuously conducted globally. Establish daily tracking and check points (stock movements, COGS booking, revenue recognition and reconciliations among systems)
  • Support production planning and closing (pre- and post-calculation processes built in the ERP) according to fashion seasons (4x annually), perform booking corrections if any;
  • Maintain appropriate independent finance side control environment on inventories and evaluation (8+ locations worldwide)
  • Ensuring accounting discipline, complying internal approval processes, building a cost-conscious culture among employees;
  • Perform and control periodic closings and annual reporting (with comprehensive check lists), cooperation with international auditors and full oversight of data reporting;
  • Contribution to process automation and ERP implementation projects (e.g. banking interface, invoice automation)
