YOUR PROFILE

  • Strong knowledge of the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
  • Experience in digital technologies to develop engineering solutions and digital technologies that are part of the solutions.
  • Strong appreciation of the project management discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years’ of experience of having handled different client organisations, business lines & environments.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ of experience in engineering, with client facing experience in a solutions architecture, technical consulting, or presales engineering role.
  • Holds or can achieve UK Security Clearance
  • Outstanding communicator (written and verbal) and networker

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Capgemini Engineering are looking for a Chief Architect whose responsibility will be to develop and deliver world-class engineering solutions for one of our key aerospace and defence clients. This individual should have experience of working at the platform level or major system level and be able to help our client in their transformation of their entire value chain and dual transition to digital and sustainable technology.
You will be a proven and energetic technical leader and engineering architect with a visible passion for the solutions we deliver, capable of inspiring our clients and our delivery teams and convincing others to support you to achieve your objectives.
You will understand our client needs, assess their current solutions, challenge and provide strategic architectural leadership on transformation and further evolution of their digital solutions. You will use your consultancy skills to build trust with our clients during the sales lifecycle and also during early phase project delivery activities including discovery and proof-of-concept development phases. This trust will lead to long-term relationships with senior technical leaders and CxOs. You will be able to do all of this at platform level or major system level in the aerospace and defence domain, demonstrating credibility across multiple engineering disciplines as would be expected by a Chief Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate our diverse software capability to our clients through social media, conference talks, blogs, special events and client focussed sessions.
  • Work with the Sales team to identify new industries and clients to target and build and execute campaigns and capture plans.
  • Identify the transformational needs of our clients and build solutions that comprise multiple geographically dispersed teams from across the GBL and wider Capgemini.
  • Influence clients to allow us to help them to define their requirements so that when the RFP lands we are in the prime position to win the work
  • Lead the development of our technical proposals
  • Support delivery (chargeable work) particularly in early engagements and discovery phase assignments, working in a consultative manner to grow significant (£5m+) opportunities.
