Description:
Linum Consult’s client is a major international company working within the energy sector. They are seeking a Chief Business Development Officer to further develop their business development and acquisitions activities in Australia. This role will be based in their Melbourne office.
Responsibilities:
- Directing and overseeing the Business Development department and company activities, while ensuring continuous support and alignment with the Mergers & Acquisitions and Asset Management functions and all support functions
- Directing the team in terms of approaching and identifying new and potential business opportunities
- Providing the Mergers & Acquisitions department with research to better understand the market and therefore ensure better analyses and assessments of the opportunities
- Tracking business development activities through your team of BD Managers, and using them to collect various local and international information in order to provide new ideas and enhance business development
- Formulating the Business Development strategy, objectives, annual business plans, budgets, and policies & procedures to support the overall business strategy
- Setting the annual targets for the investment arm of the company’s BD department in coordination with the overall Business Development team
- Overseeing the activities of the investment arm’s Business Development, with the aim of identifying, analysing and recommending specific opportunities for the growth and diversification of the company
- Overseeing all market research studies revealing market trends and growth to direct the Regional Managers towards identifying opportunities that maximise the organisation’s short, medium, and long-term profitability
- Ensuring that the CEO is kept updated with the latest market analysis and strategic plans as well as the financial impact/outcome of all growth and expansion plans as they relate to the strategic goals and objectives
