Description:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of clerical court experience
  • Experience with Teton County District Court is preferred.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • County policies and procedures and pertinent federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and procedures including Wyoming Court Rules.
  • Customer service principles, protocols, and standards.
  • Standard and specialized computer software applications.
  • Safe work practices and security precautions in court environments.
  • Basic principles and practices of accounting, cash handling, record keeping, and court records management.
  • Legal, ethical, and professional rules of conduct for public sector employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS IN:

  • Responding to public inquiries and providing information on departmental services, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Accurately processing technical transactions and maintaining departmental records, files, and documentation.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff and the general public.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Managing staff, delegating tasks and authority, and coaching to improve staff performance.
  • Providing effective customer service, resolving conflicts, and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages office daily priorities including case records work distribution and pending time sensitive deadlines; Oversees internal reviews for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversees case management and staff training for assigned specialized work areas such as criminal, juvenile, adoption, probate, multi-litigant actions, appeals, involuntary hospitalizations, family law, child support, and jury pool management.
  • Assists public and litigants with inquiries regarding court records, services, policies, processes, and procedures; responds to complaints; interprets and administers the policies and procedures of the office, the court rules, and statutes of the state of Wyoming, and the United States Department of State policies regarding passport services.
  • Liaisons with court partners as necessary to collaborate and exchange information regarding policies and practices that impact the partner office and/or District Court Clerk’s Office.
  • Proposes updates to internal training materials; facilitates meetings and training to promote office consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
