We are looking for an Assistant Chief Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Bristol Hybrid on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
Job description - The Role
Project:
As Assistant Chief Engineer you will work alongside the Chief Engineer supporting our client who specialises in creating power-dense, low voltage distribution systems and equipment tailored for UK Submarines. Applicants should be British citizens without dual nationality (unless born within a NATO country). The selected candidate will report to the Chief Engineer and will be tasked with leading a team of electrical engineers in the design of the electrical distribution system for the upcoming generation of submarines.
Responsibilities:
In the role of Assistant Chief Engineer, you will act as a representative for the Chief Electrical Engineer, playing a pivotal role in the generation of product architecture and overseeing the design process. Your key responsibilities will be.
- Assist in the generation of overall product architecture and break down into constituent sub-systems and product systems.
- Task and manage the allocated systems design teams including budget and planning requirements.
- Managing the Design Iteration and Design Technical Approval process, including the final approval of system designs.
- Capturing, managing, and maintaining all critical data created within the team, including technical reports, models, design data, or validation & verification data.
- Supporting the Product Introduction Lifecycle Management (PILM) process.
- Agreeing and committing tasks with respect to technical requirements and milestones.
- Representing the Project/Company to customers and suppliers
