ConsultANZ is looking for a Chief Estimator to join a top-tier civil engineering company in Auckland. Our client undertakes a wide range of infrastructure projects in New Zealand and is seeking an Estimator with a proven track record of successfully securing large-scale project awards.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will bring to the role:
- Has a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or construction-related qualification.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the same or related field.
- Experience in Estimation Software such as CostX, Benchmark, Excel, and Candy CCS.
- Has a background with previous demonstrated experience in successfully estimating and winning large-scale projects by managing an established team.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and their appropriateness.
- Capable of handling multiple tenders simultaneously or a single high-value tender.
- Skilled in quantification and knowledgeable about standard measurement practices and contract forms.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information professionally and assertively to all stakeholders.
- Experienced in pricing civil projects such as roads, drainage, and structures.
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES
Your responsibilities are to:
- Coordinate subcontractor and material procurement processes, including reviewing and assessing quotations.
- Monitor and control project costs from initiation to completion.
- Proficient in cost estimation, bill of quantities preparation, cost plan measurement, and contract administration.
- Ensure alignment between labor and equipment resources in the cost estimate and those outlined in the tender schedule.
- Offer precise commercial guidance to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Management.
- Compile and finalize commercial tenders for client submission.
- Prepare and deliver commercial handover documentation to the contract delivery team.
- Collaborate with construction teams to gather output and resource data, providing insights for future tender submissions.
