    We are starting our search for an innovative and progressive leader to join us, as CEO for our New Zealand business as we embark on an exciting period of growth and transformation.
    The CEO we appoint for New Zealand will join a great company that is focused on community wellbeing, people and culture, is aligned to our CLEAR Values (Customer Focused, Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Results) and is motivated by the opportunity to grow and evolve the NZ business within the broader Belgravia Leisure group.

OUR COMPANY

The Belgravia Leisure is at the forefront of the tourism, recreation and leisure industry. As part of the larger Belgravia Group of companies, our core areas of business include health clubs, tourism, wellness, destination spa reports, golf, aquatic and sporting venues in 250+ locations across Australia and New Zealand (and expanding)! We are in an exciting period of growth and looking for talented people to assist with taking the organisation into the future.
Belgravia Leisure (NZ) operates aquatic, fitness, sport, holiday parks, spa and wellness venues across 20 venues in New Zealand. With 500 team members and annual revenue of $7 million, with plans for significant expansion.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Planning and Vision

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve long-term objectives.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities and potential threats to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development of new initiatives, partnerships and revenue streams to enhance the companies’ competitive position.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, client partners, suppliers, investors and regulatory authorities
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences and public events, promoting our brand and values while networking and fostering collaboration opportunities.
  • Communicate transparently and effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed about company performance, initiatives and strategic direction.

Operational Manager

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement best practices in operational processes, systems and technologies to optimise performance and customer experience.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Through positive relationships and strong connections, ensure Belgravia NZ leverages the strength of the broader Belgravia Group.

Financial Performance

  • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts and business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor financial performance against goals, analyse variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies and cost optimisation initiatives to maximise financial results.

  • Deliver great service and quality to customers
  • Learn about and adhere to all company policies
  • Follow the law and all reasonable company instructions and directives
  • Perform other duties as required by the company

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the management team and employees, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop top talent, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects our company values and meets business needs – including the building of the NZ based support team that delivers locally – balanced with the central support services offered.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance, feedback and professional development opportunities to support their growth and success.

Qualification and Education Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in business administration, finance, management, or a related field is often required.
  • Advanced degrees such as an MBA or a master’s degree in a relevant discipline can also be beneficial.
  • National Police Check.

Preferred Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience in executive leadership roles, such as CEO, COO, or senior management positions.
  • A deep understanding of one or more of the sport, recreation and leisure industries, including market trends, competitors, regulatory requirements and customer preferences is crucial for making informed decisions and staying competitive.
