Ackerherz is the German expansion of the French scaleup La Fourche. With over 100,000 members and 300 employees, La Fourche is the leading sustainable e-grocery brand in France. Founded over 6 years ago, they have reached over 50m€ revenues in 2023 and secured funding recently due to a steady 75% growth. With Ackerherz, this successful model is now being brought to Germany
We are looking for a CEO to take full ownership of the German business. You will have the opportunity to take over a fantastic team, focused on Offering and Operations, and help it grow together with the Company. You will have full P&L responsibility and will be in charge of steering, team management, finances, HR, marketing, PR, customer service and whatever comes up. You will work together with a Offering & Operations focused COO (ex-HelloFresh). You’ll be directly reporting to La Fourche’s CEO and be in constant discussion with the other founders on specific topics.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong generalist to learn grow a startup - it is the ideal role for future founders

REQUIREMENTS

  • Motivated to make sustainable consumption accessible to every German family
  • 6+ years of work experience in high-impact generalist roles, ideally in a startup environment
  • Track record of managing and motivating teams
  • Strong business sense with knowledge of finance/accounting; Bonus: Prior experience with PnL management
  • First experience with marketing, i.e. growth/paid acquisition and brand/PR
  • Bonus: experience with e-commerce logistics/operations
  • Founder mentality - excited about getting your hands dirty, not just managing others; we don’t look for a “corporate person”
  • Autonomous work style and strong sense of ownership
  • Willingness to travel to Paris and suppliers (approximately 10%)
  • Native-level German speaker (C2) and fluency in English (C1). Bonus: French
  • Based in or willing to move to Berlin area

Responsibilities:

  • P&L Management: Ensure we hit our sales and burn targets by managing our budget and problem-solve all challenges along the way. You will have a large autonomy in your decisions to meet those goals
  • Strategic decisions: Define and execute Ackerherz strategic initiatives to help the company grow while reducing cash burn
  • Team management: Continue growing our great team culture and managing the team of ca. 10 people
  • Negotiation: Negotiate important contracts and other deals with suppliers together with the COO
  • PR/Brand: Represent Ackerherz to media, give interviews and grow our brand awareness
  • Growth/Paid: Manage operationally our shop and acquisition channel - currently low effort - and grow an extended team once we add more channels
  • Finance: Manage our finances together with French finance team and the German tax accountant
  • HR/Recruitment : Ensure smooth day-to-day operations including “mundane but important” tasks like the monthly payroll with our tax accountant or doing employment contracts; own the full recruitment cycle with external recruiters for your team
  • Legal: Enable legal compliance of our company and communicate with lawyers if necessary; formal representation of the German entity as Geschäftsführer
