  East Gippsland is a natural playground with over 21,000 square km of land including high country, nine national parks, two significant marine parks, Australia’s largest navigable inland lake system and stunning coastlines included! Covering 10% of Victoria’s expansive landscape, East Gippsland is rich in natural resources and brimming with economic potential as a hub ideally situated between Australia’s two major commercial centers in Melbourne and Sydney.
  As the CEO, you’ll lead a dedicated team of over 600 community-focused professionals, meeting the needs of almost 50,000 residents and over one million visitors annually.   In partnership with a passionate and engaged Council, you will lead the organisation to fulfill the strategic vision and enable the community and environment to thrive. Your dedication to unleashing the potential in people will drive your active role in enhancing staff capabilities and customer service to meet the needs of the community. Through your extensive engagement efforts, you will contribute to attracting further investment and build upon the advocacy initiatives of the Council and the broader Gippsland region. You will ensure the implementation of plans and strategies that will drive economic development, ensure climate change action, and promote rural, nature based and eco-tourism in the area. Working in partnership with key external partners, you will ensure Council continues to provide adequate support services for vulnerable cohorts in the community. As a strategic and transformational leader, you will uplift engagement and performance, creating an environment where staff are empowered, productive and thrive under your leadership.
  As a proven values-based and authentic leader, you are renowned for your strong focus on outcomes, as well as your ability to foster trust, accountability, and honesty. You excel in building deep collaborative relationships and possess a proven track record of effective engagement with the community and a broad range of stakeholders. You bring proven expertise in fostering a high performing and customer centric culture to ensure the organisation can meet the future needs of the community. As a proven executive with financial acumen and political nous, you are passionate about enhancing the livability of the region. While a knowledge of local government would be beneficial, more important is the capability to understand and lead this organisation to deliver outstanding results for the community.
