Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide Strategic Leadership by relying on judgement gained from direct operational knowledge while taking insight from a deep understanding of the agency’s business model.
  • In partnership with other key leaders, you will identify the key business insights needed to maximize the agency’s potential. You will anticipate trends and proactively identify issues and opportunities.
  • Have a strong understanding of our marketplace and spectrum for growth and play a key role in strategizing business growth opportunities.
  • Instill confidence with key stakeholders both internally and externally. Focus on ensuring that we are maximizing opportunities around our funding structure.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders by developing and maintaining relationships with future strategic business partners.
  • Oversee budgeting and implementation of annual budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements and Office of Management and Budget audit requirements.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
  • Oversees the identification and monitoring of financial and operational risks and controls and the development of strategies to address those risks.
  • Oversee and supervise the Finance Team through managing work allocation, training, problem resolution and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  • Develops, mentors and hires, as needed, for the finance team to build the succession pipeline and strengthen and improve the capacity of the finance function.
  • Oversee the coordination and work to prepare for annual financial audit by independent auditors.
  • Instills a culture of accountability for results throughout the organization
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting. Optimize the handling of banking relationships.
  • Serve as one of the trustees and oversee administration and financial reporting of CCRC’s Retirement Plans.
  • Work with program management staff to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support and compliance with all financial aspects of contractual requirements.
  • Participate in efforts to secure new funding specifically, assist the Vice President & COO in drafting of prospective programmatic budgets and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.
  • Attend Board and subcommittee meetings including being the lead staff on the Finance and Audit Committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by President & CEO.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/public administration; CPA is required.
  • 15+ years in accounting/fiscal management of either a profit or nonprofit organization.
  • Heavy background managing the reporting and compliance of multiple federal, state and local funding streams.
  • Practical experience complying with OMB Circular A-133 and Circular A-122.
  • Demonstrate success managing the daily operation of a large accounting department.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with County, State, and Federal Government.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and initiative under the overall guidance of the President &CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Must have a passion for the mission, focus, and culture of the agency.
  • Past experience successfully partnering with IT staff to manage critical financial management systems.
  • An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
  • Has an inquisitive, strategic and value added approach.
  • Creativity, with experience funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins.
  • Past success facilitating organizational scale and development within a growing and evolving organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a style that promotes collaboration, discussion and innovation.
  • Possesses an ongoing “continuous improvement” approach with a proven track record in process/system improvement.
  • Able to prioritize, multitask and adapt effectively in accordance with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Prefer experience with Workday knowledge and system implementations
