Responsibilities:

I. PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides both financial and operational support to the Nooksack Northwood Casino. (NNC), a wholly, owned Enterprise of the Nooksack Business Corporation II (NBC II) The position provides direct supervision of the Finance and Accounting, and Cage Departments.
The CFO reports directly to the General Manager (GM) of NNC on strategic and tactical matters as they relate to finance, accounting, budgeting, compliance, acquisition of assets, and securing funding.

III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Create, develop and implement an effective strategy of financial organization for the property working with the GM, Cage and Finance Team to ensure all internal controls and policies/procedures are in compliance with State, Federal and Tribal Gaming regulations
B. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, development and monitoring of organizational and contract budgets.
C. Work under the direction of the GM to develop the operating and capital expenditures budgets, and works to ensure business success through cost analysis support.
D. Assist in investigating cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits which the organization may offer employees and potential employees with the goal of attracting and retaining qualified individuals.
E. Assist in the design, implementation, and timely calculations of wages, incentives, commissions, and salaries for staff.
F. Oversee business insurance plans and health care coverage analysis.
G. Oversee the production of monthly financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Management, and for reporting to the NBC II Board and banking institutions.
H. Attend NBC II Board and Tribal Council meetings.
I. Monitor banking activities of the organization.
J. Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs and maintain compliance with State requirements.
K. Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.
L. Works with the outside independent auditor to ensure annual audits of the Casino’s fiscal activities are in compliance with standard accounting procedures and completed on time.
M. Because of the Casino’s commitment to our guests and customer service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
