Description:

Duties/Pligte

  • Providing support to end users regarding all Oracle applications;
  • Routinely assisting clients with resolving problems in the use of Oracle based applications;
  • Responsible for gathering, understanding, interpreting, and consolidating user requirements;
  • Responsible for ensuring continuous business improvement;
  • Working with consultants, developers, and technical support personnel to implement and support programs and interfaces;
  • Working with users¿, developers, and DBAs to coordinate the implementation and integration of new Oracle e-Business applications;
  • Working with developers and DBAs to design and implement changes, patches, and enhancements to current Oracle applications according to Oracle and Stellenbosch University’s standards and conventions;
  • Reviewing and debugging existing configurations and reporting findings as necessary;
  • Managing, and where applicable, conducting client and consultant training related to Oracle applications;
  • Responsible for ensuring that the documentation of all application configurations and customisations is kept current;
  • Creating reports on the Oracle reporting platform based on client specifications;
  • Implementing new modules / functions through proper project management and change management methodologies;
  • Testing new Oracle modules / functionality;
  • Writing / updating training manuals for key functions in the application;
  • Applying system change management with regards to all development and support.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • NQF level 7 qualification in a relevant study field with six years’ relevant experience, OR a minimum of ten years’ experience in a relevant field;
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint structures, Microsoft Excel, and service desk applications;
  • The ability to write reports using SQL and to understand the latest reporting concepts;
  • Knowledge of principles of Project Management and Agile project methodologies;
  • The ability to express business and technical concepts both verbally and in writing;
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Exposure to business process modelling, analytical tools, and methodologies;
  • The ability to proactively work both in a team as well as independently;
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to drive improvement initiatives.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

  • Good understanding of Jira applications;
  • Proven experience in Oracle Human Resources systems.
