This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse, Midwife or AHP leader who has a passion for the digital agenda. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our fantastic team and help us make a positive difference for our staff and patients. You will have extensive experience of leading improvements and you will be someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a “can do” approach. You will take a principle role alongside the Chief Medical Information Officer in advancing the Trusts digital agenda, providing direction and nursing leadership for digital across the organisation.
You will be someone with the demonstrable digital knowledge, project and operational delivery, excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) serves as the principal Nursing, Midwifery and AHP informatics advisor to the CIO, CCIO and Chief Nurse along with Divisional Deputy Chief Nurses in the delivery of the Trust Digital Strategy.
The Chief Nursing Information officer (CNIO) will be responsible for ensuring, through a series of nursing and midwifery networks, that the main themes of the Clinical Strategy and Digital strategy are communicated efficiently and effectively and that as a result the level of nursing engagement is significant.
The CNIO will provide visionary leadership and act as a clinical champion for the adoption of digital working through creating a Trust wide education programme in the upskilling of staff digital literacy to deliver safe, efficient care and improve patient outcomes and experience.
The CNIO will play a leading role in the development and execution of the NEL Digital strategy taking into account own priorities as an organisation and those across all services in City & Hackney.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate Homerton values
The role of CNIO does not include a mandatory component of direct clinical care. However, candidates are encouraged to combine the CNIO role with a clinical role in their relevant specialty on a regular basis, e.g. one clinical shift per month.
They will lead nursing and midwifery clinicians across the Trust in regard to their use of IT for clinical care delivery and clinical information systems. This will also involve developing and rolling out a digital literacy education programme that enables all staff delivering clinical care to have the skills they need to utilize all our IT systems to the greatest effect.
The post holder will participate in the Senior Nurse on Duty rota completing one clinical shift per month

The post holder will provide expert nursing and practical support to the Chief Nurse in the identification of solutions and delivery requirements of technology to the Nursing and Midwifery workforce. They will provide the professional leadership and direction relating to all Nursing and Midwifery Professional groups during the development, deployment, and optimisation of digital solutions, ensuring standards of care provision, safety and patient experience are high quality and in line with regulatory requirements.
