QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree in business, engineering, or life sciences (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the medical device industry
  • Track record of successful innovation to commercialization journeys in start-ups or larger industrial company environments
  • Proven people leader in innovation management with strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong background in class II – III medical device innovation and product development
  • Solid understanding of clinical usage of cardiopulmonary products and a wide network of key individuals in hospitals as well as research institutes within this field
  • Experience from successfully leading global teams based on virtual networks of internal & external experts and collaboration partners
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as working efficiently in a matrix organization through influential leadership
  • Team player characteristics with an understanding of the importance for teamwork with values and programs that are clearly aligned with Getinge’s values and goals
  • High in energy and creativity as well as pro-active and able to effect change in a positive manner
  • Willing to relocate to the Stuttgart area
  • Readiness to travel internationally (average 30% annually but may vary depending on needs)
  • Fluent in German and English; knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are now looking for a skilled and experienced Chief Innovation Officer (m/f/d) Cardiopulmonary. A pivotal role, the future incumbent will spearhead our comprehensive innovation initiatives as the lead of the Cardiopulmonary innovation organization. The CINO will initiate innovation projects within the Cardiopulmonary division, ensuring their successful completion and launch. The CINO will also inherit and continue to propel ongoing innovation endeavors, advancing the development of the Cardiopulmonary product portfolio. In addition, the CINO will play a key role in securing the future resilience of Cardiopulmonary, driving the efforts to establish and enhance the innovation and development framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the Cardiopulmonary innovation organization, setting expectations and managing priorities
  • Regularly engage with Global Sales, customers, and key opinion leaders to gather requirements and obtain feedback on plans
  • Initiate and inherit critical innovation projects and drive them to completion and launch
  • Contribute to securing a future-proof Cardiopulmonary organization
  • Build quality into all aspects of the work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
  • Ensure compliance to all worldwide quality & compliance regulations
  • Participate in all required training on quality and compliance at specified intervals
  • Adapt the “Beyond Compliance Quality Culture” in the work environment, always meet and exceed requirements
