Description:

Hilton Garden Inn is looking for a Chief Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for ensuring proper operations maintenance service and repair of all equipment while supporting the goals of guest satisfaction, cost control and profitability. This individual is also responsible for overseeing and participating in the Preventative Maintenance program ensuring that all rooms and public space meet brand standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of related work or hotel engineering/maintenance experience and able to perform mid-level troubleshooting of all hotel mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, pool equipment, and HVAC.
  • Prior experience in exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
  • CPO and HVAC Certification helpful.
  • Possess basic computer skills and be comfortable learning and using technology
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to handle stressful situations, work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize well.
  • Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • An independent thinker, able to make decisions based upon information gathered from appropriate resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members.
  • Capable of performing the physical aspects of the job including sitting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching, and walking for up to 90% of the workday and lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, proper insurance coverage, and a clean driving record for business-related travel
    Maintenance associates have access to guestrooms and property, character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position. Therefore, maintenance associates must pass the appropriate pre-employment screenings, per company policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and modify programs for preventative maintenance of the property, grounds and equipment.
  • Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs and maintenance to minimize service and operational disruption.
  • Ensure that guests and staff receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs.
  • Establish department equipment and inventory levels to be maintained and work with General Manager on ordering procedures.
  • Maintain, monitor and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure property, rooms, grounds and work areas are maintained according to standards
  • Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
  • Prepare reports as required by the Housekeeping Manager and General Manager.
  • Discuss with GM / Owner / Department heads on maintenance status and inspection reports.
  • Responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial goals, short and long term planning and day-to-day operations.
  • Safety and security measures. Report or correct any hazardous conditions observed immediately.
  • Guidelines for training checklist of areas to be maintained.
  • Procedures for emergencies (Person in Charge).
