POSITION SUMMARY

The CMO will serve as the thought leader and primary strategist for EO’s Marketing & Communications function. This individual will oversee all marketing and communications initiatives and will play a vital role in the growth of EO’s membership. The CMO will be responsible for creating a performance-based marketing strategy and execution plan, ensuring that decisions are made based on data and achieving the highest possible ROI.
The CMO is a member of EO’s Executive Team. To effectively meet organizational goals, the CMO will collaborate extensively with global board members, members leaders, and professional staff from all business units. As an executive team member, the CMO will champion organizational priorities, including annual planning and budgeting, infrastructure improvements in Finance and Technology, innovation in our products, and People and Culture initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in managing marketing teams of similar scope and responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant field.
  • Proven record in strategic planning and performance delivery, including creating, implementing, and measuring growth objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in performance- and/or results-based marketing.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach to working with many stakeholder groups.
  • Adaptable, versatile, and knowledgeable on up-to-date marketing trends and advancements in technology.
  • Self-starter with good prioritization skills requiring minimal direction.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent financial and analytical abilities
  • Ability to thrive and maintain effectiveness in a fast-paced, global complex, and evolving organizational environment.
  • Ability to work well with multi-functional teams as well as independently.
  • Multilingual or international experience

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Operations

  • Oversee creative and communication teams responsible for content and production of EO’s e-newsletters, blog, articles, website, social media channels, and more.
  • Plan and organize marketing functions and operations (product marketing, branding, communications etc.), and ensure they project EO’s unique “voice”.
  • Design and implement a performance-based marketing strategy, with a focus on measured ROI, rationalizing spends and proactively finding cost solutions to achieve optimization.
  • Increase EO’s digital services including social media engagement, website optimization, marketing automation. Showcases to EO’s membership the digital platforms they can utilize to expand their EO engagement.
  • Responsible for both crisis communications and leadership communications, including speechwriting and preparation of presentations for the leadership (Chair, Chair-elect, CEO, and others).
  • Champion storytelling with EO’s stakeholders (including staff, chapter board members, regional and global volunteer leaders), elevating EO as a brand while highlighting its value and impact.
  • Create, manage, and publish dashboards, report on progress against goals and relevant metrics. Development of the right success metrics across social media engagement, PR activities and other marketing and communication projects.

Executive and Department Management

  • Together with the Executive Team, develop and execute EO’s organizational strategic goals and metrics and champion the message to all stakeholders.
  • Champion leadership concepts, inspiring and managing those in the Marketing & Communications department.
  • Consistently communicate organizational goals and best practices, foster ideation, ensure supervisor and EO culture training, and motivate team members to elevate to higher levels of performance.
  • Provide assessments and data analytics to the Executive Team (weekly meetings) and the Global Board of Directors (monthly meetings)
