Responsibilities:
- Carry out captain’s and higher mate’s orders
- Maintaining a navigational watch at sea
- The planning of voyages including preparation of all charts and publications required
- The correction and upkeep of Navigational Charts and Nautical and Reference Publications
- The upkeep of all bridge equipment
- The Supervision of mooring and anchoring of the vessel as directed by the Master
- Administering and maintaining the medical welfare of the ship complement
- The maintenance of the ship’s breathing and resuscitation equipment
- Any other duties assigned to him by the Master
