Chief Medical Scientist - Point of Care Testing/Near Patient Testing

at  Mater Hospital

THE POST HOLDER WILL:

• Lead the professional organization and management of a comprehensive Point of Care Testing Service, to reflect the hospitals commitment to patient focused care and high quality
• Have the operational management responsibility of the Point of Care Testing Service within the division of Pathology Medicine.
• Recruit, train and lead a team of skilled staff, creating and promoting healthy working relationships.
• Identify and implement operational processes to the standard of best practice in order to optimize use of resources
• Participate with the Laboratory manager, Consultant Head of Departments and other relevant Departments in establishing costing methods for the Point of Care Testing Service.
• Put in place a quality management programme, which is patient centered and which measures and audits performance and client satisfaction
