The Director of Engineering Operations / Chief of Staff will help improve the operational effectiveness of our global Engineering group, with locations in Denver, Austin, Vancouver, Bangalore, Scotland, UK, France, Australia and Tel Aviv. In order to achieve this, you will work with all engineering teams, as well as, with product management. This position will be based out of Ping’s Austin office. You will report to the Chief Development Officer.
You Will:
- You will help build a data-driven culture by helping establish group wide OKRs and important metrics.
- You will also track and communicate progress against both OKRs and metrics.
- You will promote the changes necessary to transform our Engineering function into an outstanding Agile organization by leading our “Continuous Improvement Program” in collaboration with product and engineering leaders.
- You will lead annual planning, and cross function interlock, activities for the engineering group.
- You will foster organization-wide understanding through regular communications and reporting
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in product, engineering, operations, or technical consulting roles and prior success in positions of increasing responsibility.
- 7+ years project management experience working with large-scale engineering teams spread across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Deep familiarity with highly technical product development teams and processes, and an understanding of the applicability of different skills and methodologies.
- The ability to balance short-term (tactical) and long term (strategic) plans.
- Strong Analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
