Description:

Birla Carbon in Hamilton is looking for a Chief Operating Engineer for our First Class Plant. Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision, operation and maintenance of power services and related operational equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and supervise work of operating engineering staff responsible for checking, inspecting, monitoring and adjusting of the boilers, air compressors, turbines, steam condensers, air dryers, turbo generators, pumps, steam/compressed air distribution systems and other relevant plant services and operational equipment
  • Oversee and ensures the integrity of plat services equipment by supervising the work of maintenance personnel and/or contractors
  • Develops and implements power plant procedures in compliance of governing statues and standards ensure safe operation
  • Responsible for the safe and environmentally secure transfer of oil feedstock from barges and trucks
  • Ensures all log entries, repair records, operational documents and reports are completed
  • Analyze services operational data to ensure efficient operations and plan improvement
