Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Management - overseeing the day-to-day running of the Markets and Securities Services business to ensure efficient, effectiveness and adherence to Regulatory and HSBC standards.
  • Strategy and Transformation - collaborating with senior leaders within the business to develop and implement business strategies aligned with continuous improvement to the group strategic direction.
  • Financial Management – monitoring and reporting on financial performance ensuring that budgets are maintained and identifying potential opportunities for optimization.
  • Leadership – leading a local team of 48 and regular engagement with other lines of business locally, regionally and globally, providing a strong risk culture aligned with HSBC’s values and strict adherence to governance, process and procedures.
  • Risk Management – monitoring and identifying risks to the business, ensuring the business has adequate controls to mitigate both financial and non-financial risks to the business.
  • Collaboration and Communication – leading and fostering a strong culture of engagement and collaboration with stakeholders across the business

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in a similar role in a large-scale business, ideally in the banking / financial services industry, with prior exposure to Global Markets and Securities Services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large diverse teams with an accountability for large revenue streams.
  • A proven track record of originating, designing and then implementing change programmes for global projects of scale/size (driven by either business or regulatory requirements)
  • Demonstrated strong experience in stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving capability with strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the external environment across regulatory obligations as well as the global competitor and market landscape impacting client behaviour
