HOW WILL I HELP?

This role is responsible for leading and executing the Group’s ability to anticipate, manage and withstand, and recover from disruptions. Reporting to the General Manager, Property, Procurement and Protective Services, the Chief Resilience Officer will oversee the continued development and sustained management of the Westpac Group’s operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management and service provider governance. Sitting in the Customer and Corporate Services shared services division in the Westpac Group, you, along with the Business Resilience team, will support businesses across the whole Group.
As the Chief Resilience Officer, you will be accountable for the development and oversight of policies, frameworks and programs intended to mitigate / reduce business disruption impact, ensure compliance to regulatory, strategic, operational, financial obligations whilst managing and overseeing incident responses. In this newly created role, you will build and manage a team of professionals who will ensure that the Westpac Group has robust business continuity plans in place to maintain critical operations and services during emergencies or crises. This includes coordinating response efforts, establishing alternate facilities, and testing continuity plans through simulations or exercises.
The Chief Resilience Officer will be a high profile role where, for major issues that impact the Group, you will lead its crisis response and oversight, as well as any post incident reviews. To that end, you must build and foster trust-based relationships with business leaders, key stakeholders including regulators, strategic partners and professional organisations and act as the trusted advisor to all organisational stakeholders, including directly to the Group Executive team and Board.
Critical to the role is the management of the governance of the Group’s compliance to CPS 232 and SPS 232 - Business Continuity Management, and in future, CPS 230 Operational Risk to support the Westpac Group in ongoing proactive resilience across its business including critical operations and material service providers. You will also lead the Westpac Group’s Business Resilience and Service Provider Governance teams with ultimate responsibility for framework design, policy and standards, and assisting all Westpac Group businesses with implementation, adherence, testing and monitoring of appropriate controls to comply with the standard.
