JOB INTRODUCTION

Are you a dynamic, visionary HR leader with a passion for shaping the future of a diverse and inclusive workforce? The BBC is seeking a forward thinking and dynamic Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer to lead the charge in creating strategies to attract, develop and retain talent, and drive meaningful change in representation and talent development across its global media reach.
In this newly created role, bringing together and elevating Talent and Inclusion at the BBC, you will lead a team responsible for creating world-class leadership frameworks, development and training programs, and talent retention strategies all aligned with BBC values. This leader will be responsible for shaping iconic and forward-thinking talent programmes across the talent lifecycle, including the BBC Academy and flagship development programmes such as Hot Shoes.

Responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer is responsible for shaping the future of the BBC’s workforce. This role leads a team responsible for creating the conditions for BBC content and journalism to thrive by providing world class development and training, leadership and talent frameworks aligned with the BBC Values, ensuring we enable everyone to have an exceptional career with us.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement an industry leading integrated talent and inclusion strategy aligned with the BBC’s overall mission and objectives.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, belonging, and diversity throughout the organisation.
  • Drive our Creative and Workforce Diversity ambitions.
  • Own and drive a world class end-to-end talent management and D&I agenda spanning talent acquisition, talent management, workforce planning, leadership development, learning, and the talent and D&I programmes underpinning these.
  • Work closely with the executive team, HR leadership team, and other key stakeholders to define and activate a company-wide talent management and D&I strategy to accelerate realisation of BBC and HR strategies.
  • Collaborate and coach executive leadership to integrate diversity and inclusion initiatives into organisational priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with executive leadership to shape strategic talent and workforce resourcing plans.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external organisations, and industry partners to share best practices and evidence thought leadership across the talent and inclusion agenda.
  • Act as the BBC’s most senior spokesperson in industry or external forums on Talent and Inclusion, influencing meaningful and positive change across the sector and wider industry.
  • Inspire and lead a team of senior specialists and professionals to deliver the talent and inclusion strategy across the BBC.
