JOB SUMMARY

As Chief Technologist (Security), you will be the face of our Security growth pillar from a technology and market perspective, playing an integral role in the development of our Integrated Technology business through progressive and balanced thought leadership, collaboration with wider business units as it pertains to market and opportunity assessment, and assist with proposition or service capability development.
You will proactively engage and collaborate with customers, sales leadership, sellers, and the wider business, ensuring our opinion in the market is well communicated through internal and public speaking, and assist with the development and publication of whitepapers, blog posts, VT and/or podcasts.
As a member of the Office of the CTO you will collaborate with leaders across the Integrated Technology business to help develop and evolve our strategy in line with market dynamics, helping develop business cases, roadmaps and partner training and certification plans.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ Years experience in the Information Technology market with proven experience working as a senior leader combined with a demonstrable track record of leading and developing teams and individuals
  • Proven experience of CxO level interaction, engagement, and relationship management
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing cost, and attracting, retaining, and developing talent
  • Strong understanding and experience of the procurement lifecycle including negotiation, contracting, and the management of third parties
  • Experience in building internal departmental brand and engaging with multiple internal business units
  • Professional certification (desirable) such as TOGAF/Architecture, Leadership & Management, Expert, or advanced level certifications within specialism
  • Existing public personal brand (desirable) with links into wider technology communities or participation in executive councils or invite only community initiatives
  • Experience in the development of engaging public facing content in written, audio and/or visual formats

  • Prepared for occasional travel between CDW UK & International offices as the role requires whilst maintaining a suitable home life balance
  • Ability to allocate time to undertake personal development activities such as attending training, achieving certifications, and focusing on soft-skill development always seeking to personally develop as an individual

Responsibilities:

  • Be the thought leader/evangelist for the Security business, helping customers improve their security posture using relevant security platforms and control mechanisms (infrastructure security, endpoint protection platforms, identity & access management, Secure service edge, workload and application protection, data security, vulnerability & risk management, SOC services & tooling, compliance, and governance)
  • Regularly communicate CDW UKs market opinion, relevance, and capability through a variety of forums as a brand ambassador (e.g., internal seller enablement briefings, win wires, case studies, public speaking, partner engagements, quarterly state of the market reports, podcasts, VT creation)
  • Meet and collaborate with key customers and partners frequently to understand priorities and roadmaps, helping drive increased revenue by identifying new opportunities
  • Host, attend and participate in internal, customer or partner events to showcase CDWs capability
  • Build meaningful and lasting relationships with senior stakeholders within our partner community
  • Contribute to the development, launch and evolution of packaged Professional and Managed Services products as they pertain to propositions
  • Assist in the identification of new partners and technology which will contribute to CDWs success and market relevance
