Description:
We are currently seeking two Occupational Therapists in our CYP team. One role is within the CYP core team and the other is in the Intensive Community Treatment Pathway (ICT).
CYP Community Occupational Therapist
CYP Community ED Team work with young people up until 17 who have suspected or diagnosed EDs. The team provides intensive assessment and treatment for children with complex emotional, sensory, behavioural and psychological difficulties, offering intensive work with families/parents/carers to develop their parenting skills.
Our highly experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary team is committed to offering the highest standards of care to help children and families regain their self-confidence. Adopting a solution focused approach to manage challenges and steer a course towards optimism, newly realised potential and a positive future for the child and their family network.
We recognise that Band 6’s are often the backbone of our clinical teams and we will support their development both clinically and managerially. You will have opportunities to supervise staff, be an educator and have access to both internal and external training.
Our approach is holistic and solution-focused, and our multidisciplinary ethos enables each child and family to return to their community with greater strengths and the ability to sustain positive changes.
ICT team supports patients to prevent hospital admissions by providing intensive support in the community.
With support from the Head Occupational Therapist (OT) you will be completing OT assessments and interventions. In your OT role you will provide individual interventions and group work, using assessment tools and recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment. You will also have opportunities to provide supervision of fieldwork placements to OT students and other team member.
You will also be trained in Family Based Treatment to be able to offer a family based treatment which is evidenced based approach working with family and carers to enhance the recovery journey of the young person
There are many development and training opportunities within CNWL and the eating disorder service.
You will also contribute to a wider eating disorder occupational team across the ageless service.
Linked in with the CAMHS colleagues to also offer support with working with young people
You will also be a part of OT network within CWNL- which provide more support to develop and receive wider training opportunities.
