Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

CarePros is hiring for our Leduc, Alberta location. This role is most commonly in a group home setting providing care to children and youth with complex behavioural needs. At CarePros, our programs are unlike what you would expect in a traditional group home setting. Our programs are structured around the individual child/youth that you will be caring for, with a 2-1 (staff to youth ratio). This provides a safe environment where you can develop a meaningful relationship with the youth you are responsible for caring for. You will report directly to the Program Supervisor of your assigned program, who will be your key source of training, guidance, and support through your journey at CarePros.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Establish a relationship to guide and support youth through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement
  • Supervise children/youth at home and in the community
  • Complete and maintain documentation of daily activities and observations.
  • Participate in the Care Team through the ongoing development of care plans and programs
  • Perform routine general program responsibilities such as cleaning & organization

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • Alberta Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Alberta 10-year driver’s abstract (this does not mean you need 10 years driving, it is just the abstract document)
  • Alberta auto insurance (with $2Million liability coverage)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certificate from a Canadian in person (two day training)
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 3 months
  • Intervention Record Check (obtained in the last 3 months from Children Services)
  • Reliable automobile
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Suicide Prevention (an asset, but not required)
  • Mental Health First Aid (an asset, but not required)
