Description:

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking an Assistant Director for our Child Development Center (CDC) in Pflugerville, TX.
The Assistant Director will work in conjunction with the Senior Program Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the Northwest Child Development Center. Assist and support all hourly staff and ensure the smooth daily function of the facility. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith. Support the mission, purpose, and goals of the YMCA while performing job duties.

Basic Job Responsibilities include:

  • Personally complete state-required continuing education and maintain compliance in holding an active Child Care Director certification
  • Manage incident reports, communicating with stakeholders as required
  • Provide expectations, training, and support for curriculum implementation
  • Ensure staff utilizes effective classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Conduct weekly classroom observations and provide feedback to staff for continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership for the CDC to become Texas Rising Stars certified
  • Effectively communicate with parents through electronic management application, newsletters, and in person
  • Coordinate with supporting school district to ensure meals and snacks meet guidelines
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to hold a Texas Childcare Director’s Certification as required per Texas Health and Human Services minimum standards for licensed childcare
  • Continuing education as required by Texas Health & Human Services for licensing standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in a YMCA leadership role
    Status: Full-time – Exempt
    Salary Range: $42,000/year to $48,000/year.
