YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Education or relevant discipline.
• Current VIT/AHPRA/Professional Association registration.
• Relevant work experience is essential in a relevant discipline.
• Substantial clinical experience, with specialist knowledge in Child Life Therapy (Grade 3 applicants)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a fixed-term position at 0.6 FTE within the Children’s Cancer Centre.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Providing an integrated non-pharmacological procedural pain management program, aimed at minimising distress and anxiety associated with medical procedures and the hospital environment, and facilitating effective coping through a range of evidence-based interventions.
• Providing play-based interventions to assist adjustment to hospitalisation and promote healthy development for infants and children undergoing medical oncology treatment.
  Classification for the Child Life Therapist Grade 3 position will range from PT75 to PT78 (base salary $101,852.4 per annum pro rata to $107,676.4 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).
  Classification for the Child Life Therapist Grade 2 position will range from PT67 to PT70 ($88,467.6 per annum pro rata to $101,691.2 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).
