The Learner’s Nest Academy in Houston, TX is looking for one preschool teacher to join our strong team. We are located on 17214 Red Oak Drive. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and loves children.

QUALIFICATIONS

*Must be 18+ years old and possess a high school diploma/GED or higher. *Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting. *First Aid / CPR certification or willingness to become certified. *Be available to work Monday through Friday. *1 year experience within child care (preferred). *Ability to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challenges. *Good judgment and sound decision making. *Must be a team player with a great attitude. *Ability to lift and move supplies.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $11.00 - $14.00/hour.

• Facilitate learning and development through age-appropriate activities. *Promote socialization. * Ensure the overall well-being of children. *Supervise and monitor children’s indoor and outdoor activities *Keep records of children’s progress, routines and interests and relaying needed information to parents. *Assist in preparing food and serving meals. *Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children. *Observes all rules and regulations at The Learner’s Nest Academy and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children. *Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule. *Maintains an attractive, well-kept clean and sterile environment / classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence. *Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior. *Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. *Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in The Learner’s Nest Academy’s employee handbook *Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
