About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Specialist! You will be responsible for the coordination of a high quality, integrated assessment and response program for children and young people within the TSA Support Accommodation Services located in Adelaide.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide specialist family violence case management and support to children, using tailored therapeutic responses
  • Engage children through child specific therapeutic responses to assess development and cognitive milestones
  • Provide secondary consultation and guidance to staff regarding children with particular focus on risk and trauma
  • Hold space for the child’s voice as appropriate with regards to Family Law and Child Protection
  • Provide ongoing education, capacity building and training for staff that is child focused, including strategies to rebuild the mother child bond

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Adelaide, South Australia. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will have

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare (Social Sciences), Community Development or related field
  • Membership and registeration with a relevant accredited peak body (AASW, APS, ACA etc)
  • Experience in service delivery with children and families who have experienced trauma
  • Experience with women and children who have experienced family violence
  • Strong history of working with children and families from diverse backgrounds with a complex range of support needs
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • A Full Driver’s Licence
